(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting and services provider BlackMesh (www.blackmesh.com) has seen its customer base grow 50 percent in the first half of 2009, which has driven its expansion into a CoreSite (www.coresite.com) data center in Reston, Virginia, to meet the increased demand for the its solutions.

According to BlackMesh’s Wednesday announcement, the past quarter accounted for the highest quarter of customer growth in the company’s history. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, BlackMesh provides IT solutions to small and medium-sized businesses, specializing in the design, deployment, and administration of robust, innovative managed hosting and managed services in both off-site and on-site locations. The company also increased revenues by 27 percent in the first half of the year from the same period in 2008.

“With our customer, product and data center growth in the first half of 2009, BlackMesh experienced one of the most successful periods in company history,” BlackMesh chief executive officer Eric Mandel said in a statement. “As we look to the second half of 2009, BlackMesh is dedicated to providing the unparalleled, unlimited service that our customers have come to rely on, while developing key new solutions to increase our footprint and lead innovation in the managed hosting and managed services industry.”

Within the past six months, BlackMesh also strengthened its position as a leading provider of hosting services for the Drupal community.
