July 31, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet hosting provider BizCom Web Services (bizcomweb.com) announced two new services this week, adding its Hosted Email Archiving Library and hosted Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 services.
Beyond the basic safety and security measures, email archiving solutions have considerable compliance regulations for companies operating in industries with records-keeping requirements.
BizCom says the solution is designed for small and medium-sized businesses, and reduces the burden associated with setting up a solution in-house.
“Email has quickly become the main transport mechanism for all types of business documents and intellectual capital,” says Mark Wiener, president of BizCom Web Services, in the press release. “As a result, many industries are now required to keep non-editable copies of most every email or attached document they receive or send. Our hosted Email Archiving Library is designed to help businesses and government agencies safeguard their important legal documents and comply with e-discovery and records retention policies, particularly those mandated by Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and Federal Rules for Civil Procedures.”
The company says its service filters, encrypts and organizes and tags email content, and provides powerful search and retrieval capabilities. It integrates the Transparent Email Archiving Library suite, which “enables complete email retention, batch locking, rapid search and complete detailed auditing.”
BizCom’s solution is available starting at $14 per month as an add-on to the company’s hosted Microsoft Exchange.
Among the other Microsoft products offered by the company is its new hosted Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 service, offered as another add-on to hosted Exchange.
The tool offers advanced communications functions, including secure instant messaging, software-based Voice over IP and audio and video web conferencing. The company says the OCS offering, combined with its archiving solutions, delivers a “state of the art communications system.”
“In today’s extended workplace, productivity and efficiency depend on fast, reliable, and secure communications,” says BizCom VP Don Rodger, in the press release. “With OCS, mobile workforces can instantly connect and collaborate with local and remote team members, confer with customers and partners, and contact suppliers-without putting sensitive business information at risk. “
The Hosted OCS plans begin at $7.95 per user per month.
