Billing Firm Colocates at Consonus Facility

March 4, 2009 — National data center and managed services provider Consonus (www.consonus.com) will be providing colocation services to medical billing services conglomerate abeo (www.abeomed.com), hosting the company’s mission-critical data and IT equipment at its South Data Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

According to the company’s Wednesday announcement, Consonus will play a key role in abeo’s disaster recovery strategy, protecting its critical applications including medical billing services, practice management, and niche anesthesia software for the medical industry through facilities in Fort Worth, Texas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Pasadena, California; and other satellite locations.

Consonus provides IT infrastructure, data center, colocation and managed services through three data center facilities in Utah and several others across the country in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Most recently, Consonus opened the Presidential Data Center, its newest facility, in Utah in April of 2008. It also recently boosted its disaster recovery capacity with a new data center in North Carolina.

“When we heard how highly Consonus’ data center customers regard the company’s capabilities, coverage, and expertise, we naturally chose them for the colocation component of our disaster recovery strategy,” abeo chief information officer Phil Warenik said in a statement. “Our anesthesiologist clients depend on us to protect their mission-critical data. Consonus enables us to do just that.”

“abeo required a highly-secure and reliable location for their mission-critical IT infrastructure,” said Bob McCarthy, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Consonus Technologies. “Ensuring data security and accessibility, our data center facilities and IT capabilities are fundamental to abeo’s disaster recovery strategy.”
