OnePartner ATAC Tier III facility in Duffield, Virginia.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The OnePartner Advanced Technology & Applications Center (www.onepartner.com) announced on Thursday it has partnered with managed services provider BCTI (www.bcti.com), which combines ATAC’s commercial Tier III data center with the managed network and information technology services of BCTI.
The partnership marks the first between OnePartner and a managed services company, and seamlessly provides ATAC’s colocation clients with additional application and network services.
As OnePartner’s first authorized reseller, BCTI receives a dedicated cabinet to subdivide for clients seeking less than a full cabinet space.
BCTI will also assist these clients with operation systems, email, business applications, database support and custom programming.
Founded in 1983, BCTI provides comprehensive IT solutions, including networking, operating system installation, application management and programming to businesses and organizations in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. The company also offers training, development and networking.
“Our agreement with BCTI provides the opportunity to partner with a service-driven managed services company to leverage ATAC’s resiliency and high availability resources for single server requirements,” says Tom Deaderick, director of OnePartner. “We want ATAC clients to have the best on every front, and partnerships with companies like BCTI give customers better service and flexibility. They also enable OnePartner to stay focused on ATAC management.”
OnePartner’s data center, ATAC, spans 9,200 square feet and is located in Duffield, Virginia. In January 2008, the data center became the first and only facility in the nation to be certified as a commercial Tier III facility.
Data center research organization The Uptime Institute (www.uptimeinstitute.org) created the Tier classification system as a benchmark for reliable data center infrastructure design.
The organization expanded this rating system in March 2008 to include the data center grades of A, B and C to help distinguish those companies whose availability lies in between tiers.
According to ATAC, the facility is designed to provide “ideal power, temperature, humidity and connectivity for computing environments through multiple active power and cooling distribution paths and fully redundant components.”
The company offers an online tour of the ATAC facility on its website.
OnePartner ATAC’s partnership strategy enables managed services companies in the US to combine IT and networking support with the capabilities of ATAC’s data center, which provides colocation, hosting and disaster recovery services.
The company has a range of customers, including The Bank of Tennessee, Southwest Virginia/Northeast Tennessee regional health information organization CareSpark, and multi-specialty practice Holston Medical Group.
