September 17, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet infrastructure and managed services provider Terremark Worldwide Inc. (Terremark.com) said on Tuesday that Bacardi subsidiary Bacardi USA Inc. has chosen to centralize its technology infrastructure at Terremark?s NAP of the Americas.
Terremark says Bacardi chose the NAP of the Americas after issuing a competitive request for proposal, comparing the Terremark facility with those of other companies in the region. The RFP involved the centralizing of all of Bacardi USA?s enterprise resource planning system for the North American region into a single site in order to increase operational efficiencies and improve customer service.
The company?s requirements included redundancy in communications and electrical systems, a secure facility resistant to catastrophes, state-of-the art technology and the opportunity to benefit from the aggregation of carriers.
