(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Making mobile messaging simpler for resellers, and medium and large-sized businesses, messaging solution provider Axigen (www.axigen.com) has released a new commercial version of its messaging solution, Axigen Mail Server 7.0, adding built-in support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol and Active Directory synchronization.
According to the company’s Tuesday announcement, Axigen’s Mail Server software now provides push email and PIM synchronization using ActiveSync, giving business travelers instant access to messages, contacts, calendars and task lists, on a variety of mobile phone models including Nokia Symbian phones, Apple’s iPhone and Windows Mobile-compatible devices.
For administrators, the Active Directory Management Console provides enterprises with increased manageability of domain accounts and control over group membership. As well, the inclusion of LDAP and Active Directory synchronization makes it easier for service providers to centrally manage customer accounts settings, add new services and deploy security policies.
Less than two months ago, Axigen signed a business partnership with Toronto-based online managed services provider DMSource Corporation (www.dmsource.ca) to distribute Axigen Mail Server products in Canada.
