Australian Wholesale Cloud Provider CloudCentral Signs Four New Partners

CloudCentral, an Australian provider of wholesale Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service cloud computing, will be providing wholesale cloud services to power four IT service provider partners serving the Australian market.

The new members of its wholesale program include custom web and networking solutions provider Infinite Networks; cloud services consultancy, broker and integrator OOKI; managed services provider Simple ID; and retail and consulting provider Standard Computers.

As an Australian owned and hosted service provider with points-of-presence in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney, CloudCentral’s cloud services platform can assure Australian sovereignty of data. It also fully complies with the recently revised Australian Privacy Principles.

CloudCentral CEO and founder Kristoffer Sheather said the wholesale partner program has been successful since its launch in September 2013. “The response from the market has re-confirmed that wholesale Australian-based cloud provision is what is in demand. We are working with our partners to meet the demands of considerable business opportunities within the cloud marketplace.”

He noted that customer are quickly moving from the early adopter stage to moving specific workloads to the cloud and embracing cloud backup and disaster recovery.

CloudCentral is also preparing for a listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX). In March, a “reverse takeover” was announced, in which vineyard owner Dromana Estate Limited would acquire CloudCentral and change the entity’s name to “CloudCentral Limited” as a path to a stock market listing on the ASX.

CloudCentral said its partners have grown by 30 percent since September 2013, thanks in part to a budding Australian market. The Australian cloud computing market grew 11 percent in 2013, and greater awareness of cloud computing could lead to much higher growth.

Standard Computers managing director Adam Goudie said in a statement, “We believe that our partnership with CloudCentral is a natural evolution for our service offerings, and most importantly, for our customers in this new world of cloud computing. With the addition of cloud services to our onsite managed services offering, our small to medium business customers now have access to the benefits of cloud from both a technology and investment perspective.”
