(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Australian managed hosting and telecommunications provider Maquarie Telecom (www.macquarietelecom.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a three-year contract to provide data center and hosting services for Australian cloud-based customer contact technology provider IPscape (www.ipscape.com.au).

IPscape’s service provides customers with a hosted customer contact platform that can be up and running in a matter of hours, and can be adjusted by the minute to meet the needs of the customer contact team. The press release lists several customers of the service, including BT, Teleperformance and the Northern Territory Government.

On the IPscape website, the company says its service uses VoIP technology and a variety of software to provide a call center solution that includes voice, SMS, online chat, email and other platforms – making it a fairly complex, interesting and demanding customer from a hosting service provider standpoint.

“Macquarie Telecom understands the intense business and performance requirements demanded by voice communications in the cloud,” says IPscape CEO Simon Burke, quoted in the press release. “While we have built redundancy and disaster recovery facilities into the solution, it’s vital that the underlying infrastructure steps up in terms of uptime. Macquarie Telecom adds to IPscape world-class infrastructure in a cost-effective, PCI compliant environment.”

According to Macquarie, its security credentials, experience and ability to handle expected growth were all key criteria in the company’s choice. Macquarie says it will provide IPscape with “cloud-enabled services,” and will manage routers, switches and firewalls.

Macquarie’s managing director of hosting, Aidan Tudehope, is also quoted in the press release, pointing out that Macquarie Telecom’s data center is the most certified in Australia, having achieved ISO 27001, AS7799 and PCI accreditation.
