(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In one of the bigger stories to come out of the first day of the cpanel automation event in Austin, Texas this week, SEO software developer Attracta (www.attracta.com) announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement to have its SEO tool bundled with cPanel, the first time a third party application has been incorporated into the control panel in this way.

The move comes a couple months after HostDime extended its partnership with Attracta for HostDime’s resellers to access Attracta’s SEO tools at no cost.

Attracta’s Troy mccasland, exhibiting at the event, said the deal was sealed on-site Tuesday, offering Attracta the chance to reach the control panel’s enormous installed base of users, and it provides those users with access to Attracta’s tools for optimizing the search engine performance of those sites.

Attracta’s tools help a web site stand out, with an automatically created sitemap, submitted , bto the major search engines, a Google blacklist check, link building tools, social networking tools and SEO tutorials.

According to the company, Attracta’s SEO tools are currently in use by more than a million websites.

Through the new deal, the free version of Attracta’s tools will be packaged with cPanel.

“Attracta is the first and so far the only third party software ever to be bundled in cPanel,” said Aaron Philips, cPanel VP of operations, quoted in the press release.  “Every site needs traffic, and since Attracta’s XML Sitemap technology has proven to work well for our customers, it only made sense to include it as a core feature of our control panel software.”

The technical integration, says McCasland, will take about six months, at which point cPanel customers will see the SEO tools bundled into the latest update of the software.

Attracta is typically delivered in its free entry-level version, in an opt-out format, with paid versions available with enhanced features.
