Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

April 26, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Visitors to the Web site of secure email service Hushmail (hushmail.com) were redirected to a defaced site this past Sunday as a result of a hack attack against its domain registrar Network Solutions (networksolutions.com), according to reports.

"On April 23rd, an unauthorized party gained access to our customer account at our domain registrar," the company said on its Web site. "The unauthorized party altered the domain settings so that users entering www.hushmail.com in their Web browser were no longer directed to our real Web site. Instead, users were redirected to a different Web site at a different location."

According to reports, users were directed to a site defaced with the phrase "The Secret Service is watching. Agent Leth and Clown Jeet 3k Inc." The site was eventually shut down and users were directed to an error page.

The company said that there was no unauthorized access to any of the company's servers, and data was not compromised. However, email sent to hushmail.com may not have been delivered during the attack.

Hushmail said it is investigating the matter in consultation with Network Solutions.
