AT&T Wins Networking and Colocation Contract

November 25, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — AT&T (att.com) said today that it has won a three-year $10.5 million contract to develop and implement an integrated networking platform and provide colocation services for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The company said the platform is designed to support e-business applications for Enterprise’s operations in Europe.

Under the agreement, AT&T will provide a secure networking and hosting solution for Enterprise’s 300 locations in Germany, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. Enterprise will colocate its servers in AT&T’s data center in the UK.

AT&T said its network deployment allows Enterprise to enhance customer service while achieving cost efficiency and increased quality of customer service.

“We are very pleased with the level and depth of global services and support we receive from AT&T under this contract,” said Mike Preuss, assistant vice president for Enterprise. “Robust upgrades in our technological systems are geared to keep pace with the growth we expect over the next few years and ensure that we remain on the cutting edge of our industry.”

The company said that all Enterprise locations in Europe will have high-speed online connectivity to the company’s headquarters in St. Louis, giving them access to the databases and business applications that reside there.

“Gartner recently rated AT&T as a leading European data service provider citing our aggressive European network expansion and dependability to build mission-critical networks,” said Thomas Cannon, vice president of AT&T business sales. “We feel this was key in winning this contract extension and we look forward to growing together as Enterprise expands its European business.”
