AT&T Wins Hosting Contract From HSN.com

September 10, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — HSN.com (hsn.com), the online service of the Home Shopping Network, announced today it has selected AT&T (att.com) for Web hosting.

Under the terms of the two-year contract valued at approximately $1 million, AT&T will provide HSN.com with Web hosting solutions that include alternate-site hosting services from an AT&T Internet data center in Arizona. HSN.com currently hosts out of a center in Tampa Bay. In addition, AT&T will provide load balancing and dedicated connectivity between the two centers.

“It’s quite a compliment when an industry leader and innovator like HSN.com selects us to host its Web site,” said Chuck Sanders, AT&T hosting and managed service vice-president. “We’re excited to be working with HSN.com to assure an excellent experience for online visitors and to help HSN.com expand its business.”

For HSN.com, performance was a key selling point.

“Our Web presence is central to our business,” said Jack Rahner, director of technical services at HSN.com. “Our online customers expect a flawless performance from us, and we expect no less of our suppliers. That’s why we turned to AT&T for this mission-critical support.”
