AT&T Secures Hosting Deal with GSI Commerce

January 12, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — AT&T (att.com) announced on Monday that it has secured a multi-year hosting contract with e-commerce outsourcing provider GSI Commerce (gsicommerce.com).

Under the deal, AT&T is providing GSI Commerce with colocation space in its Secaucus, New Jersey, and Ashburn, Virginia data centers. AT&T said it will also supply connectivity from the two data center locations to GSI Commerce’s headquarters in Pennsylvania.

The company said the contract increases the space, power and bandwidth that GSI Commerce has available to host e-commerce Web sites for its customers.

“We chose AT&T to host our mission-critical infrastructure based on its reputation for reliability and excellence and continued growth in the market,” said Joseph Romello, vice president of infrastructure for GSI Commerce. “We can choose the services we need when we need them, and add dedicated point-to-point connections as we need them thanks to AT&T’s global IP connectivity.”
