AT&T Launches European Managed Security

December 3, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Communications carrier AT&T (ATT.com) announced on Tuesday that it has launched a new series of managed security services for European clients, including the new Managed Firewall Service and Managed Token Authentication Service.

As a leading network provider, AT&T says it has seen increased demand for an integrated solution capable of providing both network and security services. The company says its converged managed services platform, iGEMS, is an ideal structure for underpinning the portfolio.

Previously, AT&T provided security solutions for European customers on an individual, tailored basis. But customers? growing concerns about security have led to the belief that specialist security vendors can not provide the necessary level of certainty.

AT&T says a free trail of its online scanning service earlier this year demonstrated network vulnerabilities at 18 of 19 companies tested, half of them considered severe.

The company says it will combine technology from leading providers to create its two new solutions, the Managed Firewall Services, which are managed remotely by AT&T, and the Managed Token Authentication Service.
