AT&T Introduces New Business Network Data And Internet Services

March 12, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Telecommunications company AT&T today announced it has added data and Internet services to the AT&T Business Network (ABN). The ABN service is an integrated offer that enables mid-sized companies to easily purchase, manage and expand a broad portfolio of communications services.

AT&T?s new, scalable offering features data, Internet-access and local, long distance and international voice.

The newest additions to the ABN portfolio include local and domestic Frame Relay and ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) data services, and managed Internet services, from 56kbps up to T-1.

Focusing on the user-friendly aspects of the service, ABN also provides Web-based servicing tools through a personalized, secure extranet. The eABN extranet provides customers real time access to account and network performance data, including the status of orders and trouble tickets, account and billing information, call detail, facilities usage, service inventories and other critical data. With the online servicing tools, customers can customize and pay for their service online.

The high-end business solution is designed for firms spending $10,000 to $65,000 a month on communications services. AT&T currently has 6,000 ABN accounts and expects to add approximately 500 a month over the course of the year, many of which, the company says, will be old customers returning from competitors.
