AT&T Exec Joins Data Center Pulse Board of Directors

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data Center Pulse (http://datacenterpulse.org) announced on Wednesday that Eddie Schutter has joined board of directors as the local chapter strategy and operational director, a role in which he will be responsible for end user community development.

Schutter is currently the senior technical director of data center architecture and planning for AT&T. 

During his 15 year IT career he has operated some of the largest data center portfolios in the United States.

He has been actively involved in nearly every major data center industry group.

Currently he is representing AT&T on the advisory council of the Green Grid. He is also the co-chair of the Green Grid Data Center Design Guide technical forum.

“Eddie was one of our earliest DCP members and has been actively supporting the DCP work for almost two years,” says Dean Nelson, chairman and founder of Data Center Pulse. “We are very pleased to have Eddie join the board. His experience will accelerate our efforts on numerous fronts, including the development of our local chapter strategy.”

The Data Center Pulse core membership is now comprised of 1,580 people in 62 countries in almost 100 different industries.

The non-profit data center industry community works towards aligning end users to share information and ultimately influence the industry by defining, adopting and driving best practices and next generation solutions within the data center industry.

The organization began collaborating with The Green Grid to further enhance its ability to influence the industry via collaboration on data center challenges.

Shutter will be responsible for establishing the bylaws, governance and operating models of the local chapters to maximize their effectiveness and their contributions to DCP’s global efforts.

DCP continues to search for candidates to fill the remaining board positions as well as participation in the Industry Alignment Board and the Technical Advisory Board.
