AtMail Enhances Email Archiving Software

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Less than a month after launching its new email archiving software, Linux-based email management appliances and software provider AtMail (www.atmail.com) has launched a new version of ArchiveVault, helping organizations simplify email storage and management with new features that provide multi-user support and automatic updates.

According to AtMail’s Tuesday announcement, ArchiveVault 1.2 provides email administrators with the ability to capture, store, and recover incoming, outgoing and internal email. It also offers a secure, web-based management utility to quickly search and find any email, maintaining a secure record of business communications, transactions and intellectual property.

“With the addition of the auto-update capabilities our valued customers can now have access to the latest version of the ArchiveVault software without having to download and install upgrade patches,” AtMail sales vice president Corey Bissaillon said in a statement. “We are also making ArchiveVault available to buy with Atmail web mail, since many of our customers are seeking archiving solutions for their new mail servers.”

ArchiveVault helps companies comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, HIPAA, the Freedom of Information Act and other regulations, letting them quickly resolve disputes and prevent litigation.

The new ArchiveVault features Message-Digest algorithm 5 (better known as MD5) message checking, which verifies message integrity to resist tampering, as well as multiple-user support, which lets more than one administrator securely access the archive. It also includes automatic updates for version upgrades, keeping software current without the application of a patch.

The ArchiveVault software is now available to download for a one-time fee of $2,500 or together with Atmail.
