(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email services provider AtMail (www.atmail.com) announced on Wednesday that its AtMail Open webmail product will be available through Parallels’ (www.parallels.com) APS application catalog in the newest version of Parallels’ Plesk control panel software.
Parallels Plesk 9 was released on Tuesday and has made a number of updates to the software including a reseller user login level, an integrated billing package and a new Windows Vista-like theme.
AtMail’s product, which will be part of a vault of more than 180 applications through Plesk, is described by the company as a “lightweight webmail client application for managing email using any common web browser.”
Advanced features of the solution include Inline spell check and address book as well as video mail capabilities, enabling users to record streaming videos and send email messages with video clips embedded.
The company provides a demo of AtMail Open on its website.
“We are extremely pleased to offer AtMail Open as part of the Plesk Panel 9, which will allow us to expand the reach of AtMail to more organizations and users around the globe,” says Corey Bissaillon, vice president of AtMail. “Through this integration end-users have an additional choice of webmail tools through businesses offering shared hosting services.”
According to the company’s most recent announcement, AtMail is currently offered to “millions of end-users around the globe through industry leading Internet service providers, including Hostway, iiNet, UK2Net and China’s mail56.com.”
Earlier this week, AtMail reported that since its inception a decade ago, it now supports more than 15 million email users worldwide with a particular focus on providing universities, government agencies, ISPs and SMBs with cost-effective, intuitive email systems available in both commercial and open source options.
