November 22, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet service provider Atlantic.Net (Atlantic.Net) announced on Thursday that it has launched its SpamScope tool, designed to filter out unwanted email messages, including advertisements, hoaxes and pornography.
The new feature is available to Atlantic.Net subscribers at no additional charge.
“SpamScope is a spammer’s worst nightmare,” said Marty Puranik, president and CEO of Atlantic.Net. “Now, Atlantic.Net members don’t have to waste time looking through junk e-mails to find the messages they really want to read. Plus, parents will appreciate that SpamScope filters out content that may be offensive or inappropriate for children.”
Atlantic.Net says SpamScope is unique among spam-fighting tools in that it allows the user to customize the way the tool works for them, using a Web-based interface.
