(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider and data center operator Atlantic.Net (www.atlantic.net) announced on Wednesday it has signed an agreement to provide the NBA’s Orlando Magic (www.orlandomagic.com) with a fully redundant server hosting platform in its data center.
As the official server host of the Orlando Magic, Atlantic.Net will support and protect the data operations of the NBA team’s website.
The Orlando Magic plans a significant deployment of server and network hardware at Atlantic.Net including a storage area network.
As a result, the NBA franchise required a hosting partner that was capable of providing the highest quality infrastructure, bandwidth and redundancy.
Atlantic.Net will provide the Orlando Magic’s high-performance operations with 100 percent uptime and high-end infrastructure services out of its Orlando data center.
“Atlantic.Net respects and admires the Orlando Magic for their innovation and their commitment to staying ahead of the game in technology,” says Marty Puranik, president and CEO of Atlantic.Net. “We are honored that the Orlando Magic put their trust in Atlantic.Net and look forward to working as a team to supply the critical backend infrastructure that guides the ongoing success of the Magic’s operations.”
The company owns and operates its own network and data center, providing fully redundant connections to the Internet backbone.
Established in 1994, Atlantic.Net operates a colocation data center in Orlando from where it offers a range of services, including managed servers, server colocation, dedicated servers, Internet connectivity, business continuity and managed services.
