Atlantic Metro, Waypoint Expand Network

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Atlantic Metro Communications (www.atlanticmetro.net) with Waypoint Telecommunications (www.waypointtelecom.net) announced on Monday they have formed a partnership to use each company’s complimentary network services to expand their network reach within the Mid-West region.

The announcement builds on the managed hosting providers previous points of presence expansions within three CRG West data centers in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as at Switch and Data’s sites in North Bergen, New Jersey and Manhattan.

Atlantic Metro operates data centers and networks throughout the New York Metropolitan area and Chicago, as well as provides managed ISP solutions, colocation, metro transport, IP bandwidth, managed hosting and voice solutions.

This latest deal gives Atlantic Metro customers access to Waypoint’s network footprint that spans across five states in the Mid-West, including Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Chicago.

In addition, Waypoint will add a POP within Atlantic Metro’s Chicago managed colocation facility, located at 350 East Cermak Road.

This location will also act as an access point for Waypoint’s new metro fiber ring on Atlantic Metro’s Chicago metro fiber network.

“By partnering with Waypoint, we have extended our footprint to major Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the Mid-West and can now provide further network reach to companies that require quality network and Internet services in the region,” says Stephen Klenert, CEO of Atlantic Metro. “Waypoint’s network is an ideal fit for Atlantic Metro since it too is a network that is owned through the combination of custom build-outs, acquired assets and IRU leases.”

Michigan-based Waypoint Telecommunications provides network infrastructure solutions and strategic network design services, in which it builds and maintains an extensive fiber optic infrastructure in and around the metro areas of Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Dallas, and Phoenix.
