Arsenal, CEC Partner for ViaRemote

April 6, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Arsenal Digital Solutions (arsenaldigital.com), a developer of storage management solutions for Web hosting and network service providers, announced on Monday that it has entered into a partnership with Con Edison Communications (CEC), a local exchange carrier based in the greater New York area. Under the deal, CEC will add Arsenal’s ViaRemote, a fully managed network-based data protection service to its data and voice offerings. CEC will market ViaRemote, to be re-branded as PowerProtect, while Arsenal will handle the delivery and management of the service.

ViaRemote, according to Arsenal, allows companies to use their networks to back up data off-site.

“Arsenal’s data protection service will allow CEC to attract new customers as well as deepen its relationship with existing customers,” says Frank Brick, chairman and CEO of Arsenal Digital Solutions. “It will also enable CEC’s customers to cost-effectively protect their company-wide data by backing it up to a secure offsite facility.”

Con Edison Communications is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (coned.com) CEC’s metro area network currently interconnects over 160 buildings in the greater metro New York area.
