AppliedTheory Retained by US Department of State

May 15, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet development and managed hosting provider AppliedTheory Corporation (AppliedTheory.com) announced on Tuesday that it has been retained for a second year as provider of technical and application development for the 45,000-page US Department of State Web site, one of the largest and most content-intensive sites on the Internet.

AppliedTheory says it will continue to support its Waterfall content management application, developed for the State Department?s Web site (State.gov). Editors of the site use the content management tool, developed by AppliedTheory, to update massive amounts of site content.

“The current challenges facing our nation and the world underscore the demand for accurate and up-to-date information delivery, and AppliedTheory has helped us meet that critical mission,” says Colleen Hope, director of PA/EI at the State Department.

The State.gov site was created by the State Department?s Bureau of Public Affairs Electronic Information (PA/EI) Office in an effort to increase productivity and flexibility by more effectively managing and distributing its information online.
