September 3, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Aplus.Net (aplus.net) announced yesterday that they have deployed a new,improved version of its control panel.
Control panels allow a customer to set up, customize and maintain their Website on a Web server. Most shared hosting services include control panelaccess to accounts so customers can see their site’s activity and customizefiles, permissions and other related activities.
Aplus.Net’s control panel has a user-friendly graphical interface andprovides powerful multi-plan administration for Aplus.Net hostingcustomers. Control panel users can conveniently manage all of theirhosting services, Web sites, FTP accounts, domains and emails from onelocation with a single log-in.
The control panel also has comprehensive features such as accountingmanagement, allowing customers to view billing statements, view invoices,change account settings and payment information. Further, the panel website building and marketing tools.
One of the most important new features of the control panel is support formultiple logins with different permissions. This allows customers to havemultiple developers, designers and maintenance staff working separately andindependently of each other on different parts of a web site. There arealso several new support features, including a searchable knowledgebase, “on the fly” help, live chat and an online forum.
The control panel was developed in-house by Aplus.Net staff. “Controlpanels are not the newest technology – there are pretty common – but westudied the competition in order to develop a unique product thatoutclasses them,” stated Ivan Vachovsky, chief executive officer ofAplus.Net. “We worked on the control panel for almost a year and duringthat time we evaluated and tested a dozen of the leading products.Consequently, we are confident that we have built a superior product.”
The control panel is available now for most Aplus.Net customers. Aplus.Netresellers and resold accounts also have immediate access to the controlpanel. Resellers are provided with branded control panel access and theability to create sub-accounts for each of their customers. All defaultimages in the control panel are fully customizable to allowing the resellerto brand the control panel and integrate it into their own “look and feel.”
Aplus.Net plans to integrate its control panel with billing andprovisioning software developed by Rodopi (rodopi.com) to provide acomplete turn key hosted solution for resellers. This program will becalled the “platinum reseller” program and will launched later this month.
