Aplus.net Launches New Hosting Brand, Codero

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Less than a month after announcing it would be selling its various lower-end web services customer assets, web host Aplus.net (www.aplus.net) has launched Codero (www.codero.com), a business entity focused solely on dedicated and managed hosting services for small and medium-sized businesses.

According to the Tuesday announcement, Codero’s business plan provides customer service driven advanced hosting solutions for email, e-commerce, and other hosting needs, delivering these services in a world-class, on-demand data center on a national and global basis.

“Codero stands for collaboration, engagement, focus, reliability and flexibility,” Codero chief executive officer Phil Spencer said in a statement. “It is a robust platform that will offer a fast growing segment of our clientele a chance to do what they do best, which is running a profitable business and not having to worry about managing an internal IT department. That means we get to do what we do best, and that is dedicated and managed hosting services with an emphasis on day-to-day customer service.”

Current dedicated and managed Aplus.net hosting clients will be seamlessly transitioned to Codero, where they will be served by the same management team and customer service staff. Aplus.net customers can take advantage of Codero’s advanced service options that include a full line of high–performance, value-driven Windows and Linux servers located in secure data centers with 24/7 US-based support.

Dedicated Codero clients have full control over their servers, including root access, choice of operating systems, hardware and upgrades. Complementary managed services are available including back-up through EVault, security and networking solutions and the eCommerce Pinnacle shopping cart.

“The Codero launch gives us the liquidity to invest and grow our core business of advanced dedicated and managed hosting solutions and provide additional benefits to our clients.” continued Spencer.

In early July, Aplus.net announced it would sell more than 80,000 shared web hosting, e-commerce, email services, domains and website management applications customers to the web services division of Deluxe Corporation (www.deluxe.com), Hostopia (www.hostopia.com), letting Aplus.net focus on its core managed hosting offerings.
