June 12, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Business and information technology consulting firm Amercian Management Systems (AMS.com) announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a $4.8 million, 36-month contract by the State Auditor?s Office of the State of Wyoming to host the state?s payroll system ad other accounting and procurement services at AMS?s Fairfax location.

According to AMS, the deal will make Wyoming the first state to completely outsource its payroll and accounting data.

“This is an exciting opportunity to use technology for the greatest results for our customers, the state’s employees and citizens,” says Max Maxfield, state auditor. “We are pleased to be working with our longstanding vendor, AMS, and avail ourselves of the increased security and services its solution provides.”

AMS will migrate Wyoming?s financial data to its AMS ADVANTAGE 3.0 Web-enabled platform, while concurrently hosting and supporting its current payroll and accounting data based on AMS ADVANTAGE 2.0.

AMS says its infrastructure platform and service, tailored to the specific needs of government operations, is built on 25 years of application hosting experience. The company says it combines application knowledge and secure, reliable infrastructure to ensure that its customers see more efficient operations and lowered hardware costs.
