AMS to Assess IT Security for CA Data Center

July 3, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — American Management Systems, Inc. (ams.com), a business and IT consulting firm, announced today that it has been selected by the State of California to provide information technology security assessment services for the Stephen P. Teale data center (teale.ca.gov).

“Teale has contracted with AMS to acquire the independent, unbiased, expert services necessary to provide increased safeguards for the valuable IT assets of our state government customers,” said Carlos Ramos, director of the Teale data center, a state department within the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.

In addition to assessing technology risks, AMS will also review Teale?s business and systems requirements, security policies and procedures, and technical architecture.

“AMS has partnered with California on numerous IT engagements and understands the critical and vital role Teale plays in the tactical and strategic operations of the state’s agencies,” said Steve Kolodney, vice president for the western region in AMS’s public sector group. “We’re pleased to work with Teale to reduce their exposure to vulnerabilities, threats and business risks through a comprehensive and innovative application-focused enterprise security framework, which we believe is a fundamental component of digital government.”

Teale Data Center was formed in 1972 and provides information technology services and products to over 250 customers.
