Alert Logic has released a new version of security and compliance solution Alert Logic Log Manager
Cloud security solutions provider Alert Logic announced on Tuesday it has released a new version of security and compliance solution Alert Logic Log Manager, which enables real-time security monitoring of critical security logs.
The move follows the recent release of Alert Logic Web Security Manager with ActiveWatch, which includes web application firewall technology to protect against common threats and attacks.
The new version combines correlation with on-the-fly parsing of logs, alerting users of critical security issues.
The solution allows users to manage log data from all of their infrastructure, including environments inside enterprise data centers all the way through fully elastic public clouds.
Log Manager also enables users to query their data by using a simple query builder instead of requiring them to learn a specialized or cryptic query language.
The Log Manager’s rapid service activation accommodates the full spectrum of potential deployment options, including physical, virtual or agent-only deployments.
With this flexibility, Log Manager is able to integrate into product portfolios of cloud, hosting and managed service providers.
“Cloud environments can be unforgiving to poorly designed solutions. Changing network topology, network IP addresses, auto-scaling of infrastructure and huge variations in log volume rapidly expose the weaknesses of legacy software systems,” said Dave Colesante, senior vice president of product development and CTO with Alert Logic. “The new Log Manager was architected to accommodate these unique challenges while keeping a simple user experience for searching and analyzing the ever-increasing volume of log data.”
Log Manager provides on-demand log collection, storage, reporting and correlation to more than 1,000 customers, which use the solution to identify and respond to security events and to comply with standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other requirements.
Alert Logic currently manages several petabytes of real-time searchable log data, providing a portfolio of SaaS solutions for customers of hosting and cloud service providers.
Alert Logic’s security-as-a-service solutions provide customers with security tools, a fully outsourced and managed SaaS delivery model, integrated 24-hour Security Operations Center services to monitor and provide guidance, and the ability to deploy wherever a customer has IT infrastructure, including the cloud.
A recent report by Alert Logic found that business applications that are hosted on-premise are more likely to be attacked than apps hosted in cloud environments.
