July 3, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar AIT Domains (aitdomains.com), a division of Web hosting provider Advanced Internet Technologies (ait.com) announced on Monday that it is holding a special sale for the Fourth of July.
AIT Domains says that under the promotion all domain names will cost $6.49 until July 6. However, due to recently announced price increases from ICANN, AIT Domains says it’s being forced to raise its prices. Rates are currently scheduled to go up to $8.49 per registration year on July 9.
“Because our margin is so low on domains, we have no choice but to raise our rates. Unlike so many of our competitors who charge upwards of $15 and in some cases even $35 per domain, AIT Domains charges only what we absolutely have to, to cover our costs,” says Brandy Modrell, AIT Domains project manager. “You can save almost 50 percent by switching to AIT Domains. That equates to two domain years for the price of one compared to most of our competitors.”
Clarence Briggs, CEO of Web hosting provider AIT, also recently launched tyBit, a company with a technology designed around a client-side search application model.
