July 6, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet service provider American Internet Service (americanis.net) announced on Thursday that it has launched its second data center in San Diego, California.
With the new 80,000 square foot facility, AIS says it is now the largest independent colocation provider in Southern California with more than 105,000 feet of data center and colocation space.
AIS says its new facility features 13 megawatts of power, 1,500 tons of cooling, redundant feeds to redundant power substations and redundant generators, performance routing across six major backbones and around-the-clock staffing and security. The two facilities will continue to service the Golden Triangle and La Jolla area on the west side of San Diego as well as the new San Diego Spectrum located in the Claremont Mesa area on the east side of San Diego.
“American Internet Service’s amazing growth is attributed to two major factors,” says Robert DeuPree, CEO of AIS. “The first is our clients demand for highly reliable, secure data center space and our ability to meet that need. The second and most important reason is that we set ourselves apart from the competition by providing the best bandwidth, most uptime and the best customer service. AIS is setting the industry standards for colocation.”
