(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network ecosystem and platform provider Aflexi (www.aflexi.net) has launched a new marketing structure for its CDN solutions, providing service providers and web hosting companies with extra revenue streams.
According to its announcement last week, Aflexi has made it easier for operators, content providers and service providers to market CDN services and hosting by letting them not only provide Aflexi CDN services, but also sign up as an “Aflexi License Distributor,” letting them resell the license-based Aflexi CDN software.
The Aflexi technology manages and optimizes website traffic across various ISPs and their points of presence. Because Aflexi uses a network of ISPs and does not rely on a single network or just a few providers, an Aflexi-powered ISP or web host is very resistant to downtime and can guarantee high speed data delivery. Operators can now use it to deploy their private CDN with self-managed infrastructures.
“Using the Aflexi CDN software, the web hosting company first deploys their CDN by setting up edge servers at different location,” Aflexi chief executive officer Whei Wong said in a statement. “They can then sell CDN hosting packages to hundreds of webmasters and content publishers. The publisher’s web content will then be pulled from web hosting company’s CDN, depending on the location which that web host covers.”
Distributors have access to a free web interface with detailed reporting features for managing all their issued licenses, and can generate up to 35 percent commission from software sales.
Whei Wong also noted that there will be marketing benefits for distributors. “Aflexi partners will receive additional benefits by being featured in our marketing campaigns, websites and Aflexi users’ portals.”
