Affinity says the service will focus on the more technically savvy segment of the market, such as developers and designers.

“This state of the art platform will serve as a foundation for a community of like-minded developers who are looking for a place where they can develop their Web sites in a dynamic, supportive environment – backed by best-of-breed technology and the most knowledgeable support team,” the company said in a statement.

Based on the Gate.com Web site’s current contents, the brand will offer domain registration, email, Unix hosting, Windows hosting and dedicated servers. Four Unix and Windows plans are priced from $9.95 to $49.95 per month. A Linux and Windows dedicated server are priced at $79 and $109 per month.

Affinity markets its hosting services under four different brands: ValueWeb, Bigstep, HostSave and WinSave. However, Gate.com will not become the company’s fifth brand and will instead replace the HostSave brand.
