September 25, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Network infrastructure equipment and services provider ADC (adc.com) announced on Thursday that it will showcase its energy-efficient data center design solutions as well as higher density solutions with integrated cable management at the upcoming 2008 BICSI Fall Conference.

Held at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas from September 28 to October 1, the 2008 BICSI Fall Conference is a conference and exhibitition for the information transport systems industry

As today’s data center supports different equipment, applications and bandwidth speeds, it requires specialized design, greater reliability and manageability, and higher density.

ADC will demonstrate its energy-efficient data center design and manufacturing solutions with passive airflow improvement thats reduce cooling and power requirements.

The company will also showcase its CopperTen system, which was the world’s first Augmented Category 6 structured cabling system with the necessary characteristics to enable 10Gbps Ethernet transmissions over a full 100 meters of UTP cable and meet the recently ratified TIA and ISO Standards.

Finally, ADC will display its Data Center Optical Distribution Frame solution, a high density solution that serves as a modern data center’s main fiber cross-connect.

“Today’s data centers need to be designed for energy efficiency and optimal performance without compromising reliability and manageability,” says M. H. Raza, vice president of enterprise business for ADC. “Our solutions are designed with industry-leading cable management which promotes unrestricted passive airflow, helping to achieve a more environmentally friendly data center.”

In addition to the exhibition, ADC will co-host with Fluke Networks, Intel and Extreme Networks a free luncheon seminar entitled, “How to Deploy 10GBASE-T in the Data Center,” on September 30, at noon in MGM Grand Rooms 111-114.

Available on a first-come basis, the seminar will feature presentations from the industry leaders covering topics such as the fundamentals of structured cabling for the 10GBASE-T network, certifying cabling to ensure success, and industry trends making 10GBASE-T the data center performance choice.

The luncheon will offer a live demonstration of 10GBASE-T application with products from ADC, Fluke Networks, Intel and Extreme Networks, which will also be ran at ADC’s booth during exhibit hours.

The demo will exhibit a worst-case scenario for a data center, where traffic will run on multiple channels to reveal that alien crosstalk ?electromagnetic noise that can happen in a cable that runs alongside one or more other signal-carrying cables – will not block the 10GBASE-T application from performing on Cat 6a UTP cabling. This demo also will appear in ADC’s booth during exhibit hours.

Finally, ADC will also present a pre-conference seminar on September 29, entitled “Future Trends in Energy-Efficient Datacenter Design” from 9 a.m. to noon.

ADC provides the connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast, and enterprise networks worldwide. Its network infrastructure equipment and services enable high-speed Internet, data, video, and voice services to residential, business and mobile subscribers.
