August 25, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — European Web hosting provider Active 24 (active24.com) announced on Wednesday that it had signed an agreement to acquire CP Online (cponline.cz), the Internet services division of Czechoslovakia’s Computer Press.
The purchase price was approximately 470,000 US dollars. Active 24 says the acquisition increases its share of the Czechoslovakian market to 30 percent.
“The acquisition of CP Online is an important strategic market move,” says Jaap Zuiderveld, CEO of Active 24. “The Czech market is very prosperous. We are buying a portfolio of customers. We already have all the infrastructure, technology and personnel in place to successfully consolidate CP Online?s products and customers into our existing structure.”
