Above Security Appoints Six Key Board Members and Executives

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed security solutions firm Above Security (www.abovesecurite.com) announced on Thursday it has made six new appointments to its board of directors and executive team in order to support its expansion plans.

Above Security serves hundreds of customers in over 22 countries through its markets-leading solutions in managed security services.

The company was acquired in May by Phil Terriaca and Ray Chehata with “the intention to invest heavily into R&D and [enhance its] customer services,” says Terriaca.

The company has named three new members of the board of directors, including Michael Pesner, Brendan Dunn and Hubert R. Marleau.

Pesner is also a member on the board of directors of Bitumen Capital, Mint Technology, Quest Rare Minerals, and Sand Technology, as well as president of financial advisory services firm Hermitage Canada Finance.

Dunn is the co-founder of discretionary asset management services firm Holdun Asset Management. He is also a chartered portfolio manager, a chartered wealth manager, and a certified private equity specialist.

Marleau is the chairman, co-founder and director of Palos Capital. He has over 30 years of experience in the business and financial community, having raised funds privately and publicly for hundreds of emerging and mature companies, structured many mergers and acquisitions as well as designed and created many financial deals in Canada.

Matthew Mather has been named VP of technology and business development for Europe.

He is a successful serial entrepreneur and technology business development expert with a wide range of industry experience spanning the cloud computing, online, and intellectual property licensing worlds.

Mario Ramirez has been named to vice president of business development for Latin America. He has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience,  including introducting the first pre-paid Visa program in Canada in 2007 as associate vice-president at Atlas Card Corp.

Ahmed El-Gillani has been appointed to vice president of technology and business development of Middle East North Africa.

As an entrepreneur and a specialist in technology’s risk and operations management, he has extensive experience in SaaS and real-time engineering spanning finance and logistics industries.

Mario Venditti has been named vice president of services and technology. He has over 10 years of experience in the areas of operational and competitive strategy, technology R&D and marketing.

He has been a consultant in the areas of operational strategy and asset management, and has spent the last three years working on the development, management and implementation of a supply chain services delivered through a cloud computing platform.
