4th European Peering Forum Held This Week

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet exchange points AMS-IX (www.ams-ix.net), DE-CIX (www.de-cix.net), LINX (www.linx.net) and Netnod (www.netnod.se) announced on Monday they are hosting the fourth European Peering Forum (www.peering-forum.eu) on September 14 through 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The event follows last October’s Tokyo Peering Forum 2008 which was hosted by Equinix.

Sponsored by Equinix, TDC, Interxion, and many others, EPF4 expects to attract more than 200 individuals from the respective IXP member organizations where they will discuss all aspects of peering from negotiation and strategy to operation.

“We are delighted to have joined the European Peering Forum as a host IXP,” says Nurani Nimpuno of Netnod. “This is a very important event for the peering industry in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe too. Meeting in this way allows delegates to establish and extend peering relationships as well as share information beneficial to the whole peering community.”

The two day conference will offer a range of presentations on the Scandinavian peering landscape, QoS in IP interconnection and a discussion on the impact of privacy legislation and data retention.

The conference will feature a debate on Peering vs. Transit in Europe, DDoS mitigation and an IPv6 peering panel moderated by Martin Levy, while Gold sponsor Equinix will host a session on the topic of capacity management.
