November 21, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar 4Domains (4domains.com) announced on Tuesday it has launched DotPound (dotpound.com), a domain auction site that is free of listings and transaction fees.
“Our motivation initially for this site was to offer some of our larger domain customers an exit strategy for their large domain holdings,” says Chuck Steinberger, CEO of 4Domains. “But as the project grew we realized that we could also increase the demand for registering new domain names and buying expired domain names if we provided a free auction service.”
An ICANN accredited domain registrar, 4Domains provides a customized environment primarily to the Web master, reseller, home office and SMB market.
4Domains offers a range of products, including domain name registration, bulk domain name registrations, domain transfers, domain renewals, drop names, domain auctions, Web hosting, virtual private servers, VPS, reseller plans, virtual dedicated servers, expired domain names, dedicated servers, dedicated clusters, Web design and Web templates.
