(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — UK Web hosting provider 34SP (www.34sp.com) announced on Friday it has opened new space at data center operator and network services provider UK Grid’s (www.ukgrid.net) data center in Manchester, UK.
The data center is the third provisioned by 34SP with existing data center space in London and Manchester.
As its previous data centers were approaching capacity, 34SP was looking for a scalable, world class data center that was geographically close to Manchester City.
The new data center space is a Tier 2 premium data center in Manchester.
Located in Manchester Science Park’s Synergy House, the data center is UK Grid’s latest addition to its carrier neutral facilities.
The facility includes redundant power and cooling and is serviced by a fully diverse fiber ring providing high availability, as well as full physical and virtual security.
The data center features its own independent HV supply and power substation enabling the facility to sustain the newest high powered racks required by the next generation of powerful servers.
The carrier neutral facility is connected via a dark fiber ring to multiple Tier 1 and Tier 2 bandwidth providers.
The facility offers maximum redundancy and uptime as a result of having completely separate and independent multi homed fiber entry points into the building.
“We’ve been growing ever since we started, and part of growing as a web host means adding server hardware,” says Daniel Foster, co-founder of 34SP.com and the company’s technical director. “To date, we’ve been using our main London data center to add this capacity, but wanted to add another site close to our headquarters in Manchester.
