3-Way Tie in Netcraft Most Reliable for May

Netcraft's Most Reliable Hosting Company Sites in May 2009.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web analytics firm Netcraft (www.netcraft.com) reported that New York Internet (www.nyi.net), pair Networks (www.pair.com) and INetU (www.inetu.net) were all tied for the most reliable hosting company sites in May 2009.

The websites of all three web hosts did not show a single failed request throughout the month of May.

This marks New York Internet’s second consecutive appearance on top, a position it shared with DataPipe, Virtual Internet and Hosting 4 Less.

Founded in 1996, the web host offers a range of services including dedicated servers, colocation and virtual web hosting, which are all supported by a 99.999 percent uptime guarantee.

pair Networks also started off in 1996, and has since then grown to offer dedicated servers, virtual private servers and high volume hosting from its own data centres in Pennsylvania.

Enterprise managed hosting firm INetU, which is also located in Pennsylvania, offers a 100 percent uptime service level agreement.

It includes managed services such as MySQL and MS SQL database clusters, Exchange servers, virtualization and firewalls.

In this month’s top ten hosting company sites, three companies, including NYI and pair Networks, run FreeBSD on their sites, three other companies run their sites on Linux, and the remaining two identifiable operating systems are Windows Server 2003.

Each month, Netcraft measures and posts the response times of 50 leading hosting providers’ sites.

The firm calculates the performance measurements at 15 minute intervals from separate points around the Internet.

The company then calculates the averages over the immediately preceding 24 hour period.
