February 21, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Organizers of the Server Blade Summit 2003 (ServerBladeSummit.com), a conference and exhibition dedicated to the server blade technology segment, said this week that the event will explore why server blades are one of the few growing markets in the IT industry.

Taking place March 4 to 6, 2003 at the Wyndham San Jose, the event will focus on the “new rules” expected to arise in data centers, telecom equipment and server farms as blade technologies contine to advance. The newly-formed Server Blade Trade Association will convene for the first time at the event.

More than 85 industry executives, including representatives from HP, QLogic, Broadcom, IBM, Cisco Systems, Intel, Adaptec, StorageTek, Unisys, Sun, AMD and Network Appliance are scheduled to speak at the conference, and dozens of vendors will exhibit their blade software, hardware and services. Event organizers have added extra space to the sold-out exhibit hall to accommodate latecomers.

Tom Bradicich, CTO for IBM’s xSeries Intel server group, will deliver the Server Blade Summit keynote address, “Seven Benefits of Blade Architectures.” IMEX Research analyst Anil Vasudeva will deliver a special address on “The State of the Server Blade Market.” Conference tutorials include presentations from Intel on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture and from ServerWorks on PCI-X, as well as workshops on standard interconnections, data center applications, XML technology, supercomputing, embedded KVM, InfiniBand and small-form-factor disk drives.
