(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center equipment provider Green Rack Systems (www.greenracksystems.com) announced last week it has launched a new green data center equipment line designed to help lower IT system costs while significantly reducing environmental impact at the same time.

According to the press release, Green Rack Systems' new low-power line of data center equipment is "able to design, install, and maintain energy efficient data centers that consume just a tiny fraction of the resources previously required for full-scale IT rollouts."

The company says that the equipment, which includes low-wattage multi-core CPUs, low-voltage memory, low-power hard drives, and ultra-low consumption power supplies, enables "even small, in-house computer server and data systems can consume astonishing levels of energy in the span of a year's time."

Green Rack Systems says it offers many energy efficiency practices, including the use of low-wattage CPUs which reduce power consumption and thermal output, multi-core CPUs for higher compute density, low-voltage memory, low-powered hard disk drives, high-efficiency power supplies which reduce cooling requirements and increase system reliability, the use of recycled steel where possible, and an optional solar-powered colocation facility.

Additionally, the data center equipment provider hosts its own website at a solar-powered data center.

"From converting an existing data center setup to building brand new all-green turnkey solutions, Green Rack is proud to combine traditional green technology, such as recycled steel and plastic, with our cutting-edge data center equipment, which includes low-power consuming processors and memory, ultra high-efficiency power supplies, and even colocation in a completely solar-powered data center."

Green Rack Systems' GSC Compute Servers Series (www.greenracksystems.com/product_002.html) is designed to maximize compute power while ensuring minimum power usage.

The company says it achieves this by using "best of breed non-proprietary components," as well as offering customers the choice of the latest-low wattage CPUs from Intel and AMD to customize a solution that meets their computing needs.

Customers can also custom-tailor the performance of the servers with their choice of hard drive technology, offering SATA hard drives as a standard, and an upgrade to SCSI or SAS hard drives for higher performance.

Additionally, conventional dual-core and quad-core CPUs are also available for maximum performance, where up to 336 cores can be installed in a standard 42U cabinet with quad-core CPUs.

San Jose, California based Green Rack Systems says it specializes in creating, building, and servicing energy efficient "green" large-scale data center deployments for many industries.

Earlier this month, Green Rack Systems launched its Green Partner Network, which is designed to promote green computing solutions for the data center environment, with a focus on reducing power demand and cooling requirements.
