Sedo Receives A+ From BBB

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Domain online marketplace Sedo (www.sedo.com) announced on Wednesday it has received an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org), a not-for-profit, public organization financed by the private business sector.
By receiving the BBC's highest rating, Sedo has gained the organization's full confidence that the company is operating in a trustworthy manner and, according to the press release, "will make a good faith effort to resolve any customer concerns."
Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Sedo is an online marketplace for buying and selling domain names and websites. The company has a database of more than 14 million domain names for sale, and a global membership base of more than 800,000 domain professionals.
"This A+ rating reflects the knowledge, patience and commitment of Sedo's customer support team," says Martin Osusky, director of customer relations for Sedo. "I'm proud to see Sedo being recognized and rewarded for the level of dedication we provide to our customers every day."
The BBB is ultimately designed to advance marketplace trust between buyers and sellers. The organization's ratings are determined by an evaluation of a business in over fifteen categories, including type of business, complaint volume, number of unanswered complaints and complaint analysis.
And though the BBB has long established itself as the premier third-party validation system for traditional businesses, reputation management solution provider Ratepoint (www.ratepoint.com) has built a comparable validation platform for online businesses.
As online security continues to be a prevalent issue, sometimes it can be difficult to determine an online business' reputation. Ratepoint's Partner Program enables businesses to capture and publish consumer reviews and feedback directly from their websites, verifying actual consumer ratings for authenticity.
Sedo is majority-owned by AdLINK Group, which is part of United Internet (www.unitedinternet.com), which announced Wednesday that it acquired the United Domains unit of Internet portal Lycos Europe.
