Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

December 9, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- According to reports by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a 19-year-old Winnipeg man is trying to clear his name after his Netgo Web Hosting (netgohosting.com) business unknowingly hosted al-Qaeda terrorist related content.

Justin Fitzpatrick, who rents server space from a Dallas-based data center, hosted a Web site in October for 10 days that featured video content of Osama bin Laden and his right-hand man, Ayman al-Zawahri.

Fitzpatrick consulted the data center when he discovered Arabic-language text and videos on the Web site his company was hosting. After reporting it to the Dallas-based company, its legal department recommended he remove the content.

Fitzpatrick followed their instructions, removing the site and refunding the $4.95 monthly fee to the credit card. He says he has no idea why his company, which hosts all but 15 to 20 sites, was targeted. The report speculated that the responsible party believed the content would go undetected with a smaller hosting provider.
