Pangea Deploys Mosso Cloud

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Rackspace Hosting's (www.rackspace.com) cloud division Mosso (www.mosso.com) recently issued a case study involving Pangea Foundation (www.pangeafoundation.org), a software as a service solutions organization for non-profits, and its deployment of Mosso's cloud hosting solution.

Pangea deployed Mosso's cloud hosting solution, which provides scaleable cloud hosting to support the rapidly changing needs of Pangea's non-profit customers. Pangea provides disaster recovery support to non-profit organizations that cannot afford or implement advanced technology to support their work.

The SaaS solutions provider is also using Rackspace's hosted email solution, MailTrust, both for its customers and for its own business.

Pangea was forced to evacuate its San Diego offices in October 2007 after the California fires erupted. This could easily have been a significant interruption for Pangea in providing customer services, however, Rackspace's combined hosting solutions allowed the company to continue working from outside its office and to offer seamless support to its customers.

And, Pangea provided support for the emergency management application 211 efforts for the 2007 San Diego fires and the 2008 Iowa floods, informing callers regarding human services for every day needs as well as in times of crisis. Pangea also created a website that provided vital information to the victims of Hurricane Ike along the Texas coast this past August as well as Hurricane Gustav in Louisiana.

The organization is currently developing a Mosso and Rackspace-powered standardized Nation-wide 211 application, which it will offer as a SaaS service that can handle sudden traffic spikes as disasters occur.

Rackspace recently named Pangea Foundation the winner of THE FANATI award, the company's customer award for outstanding customer service.
