STA Travel Deploys Zeus ZXTM

November 13, 2006 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Application traffic management software provider Zeus Technology (zeus.com) announced on Monday that travel retailer STA Travel (statravel.com) has chosen Zeus Technology's ZXTM solution to help accelerate delivery of Web site content.

The travel retailer recently decided to centralize its local Web presences by implementing a single content management system. As online services form a key part of the company's revenue, STA Travel decided it needed a Web traffic management solution to accelerate the delivery of content to these local sites.

STA Travel selected Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager to improve the speed and performance of its regional Web sites by accelerating the content delivered from its central data center, as well as improving local Web site traffic management and load balancing capabilities. ZXTM provided the solution, deployed on a utility computing platform based on Egenera BladeFrame systems.

"ZXTM has helped us ensure our new content management system performs at optimum levels," says Peter Brand, head of operations for STA Travel. "Not only have page loading times improved, but we now know the service will be completely reliable, regardless of the location. We were delighted that the ZXTM solution can be used without requiring any modifications to the content management system."
