Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Drawing upon six years of experience supporting and hosting ColdFusion applications, hosting provider Gearworx (www.gearworx.net) has launched a new line of Adobe ColdFusion 8-enabled virtual private servers, designed to offer developers the tools and resources needed to run powerful and scalable applications for their clients.

According to the company's Tuesday announcement, Gearworx's ColdFusion VPS offering is hosted on robust Dell PowerEdge 2900 series servers with quad core Intel Xeon processors. Plans range from a $60 per month base package with 50GB of storage space and 500GB of short-path data transfer. The premium package is just $10 more and features 80GB of storage and 800GB data transfer.

"With more than eight years experience in Web hosting and six years specializing in ColdFusion, we are experts in creating world-class, affordable, and reliable Web hosting solutions," Gearworx chief executive officer William Gregorian said in a statement. "We built our ColdFusion VPS plans to compete aggressively on price and features and meet the requirements of businesses and individual developers."

Gearworx joins just a handful of hosting providers that offer ColdFusion 8 VPS such as Vivio Technologies (www.viviotech.net), HostMySite.com (www.hostmysite.com), and KickAssVPS.com (www.kickassvps.com).

Web hosting providers interested in developing their own VPS packages based on ColdFusion 8 have a smaller barrier to entry thanks to HostMySite, which began offering ColdFusion 8 Enterprise licenses for $149 per month with the purchase of a dedicated server.

Hosted on the Windows 2003 Enterprise operating system, powered by Parallels Virtuozzo, Gearworx's new VPS product promises developers full privileges to the ColdFusion 8 administration interface, letting them make configuration changes as needed.

Gearworx also offers managed and unmanaged services including a variety of shared, private label and VPS hosting solutions.
