(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated hosting provider Limestone Networks (www.limestonenetworks.com) announced on Friday has opened a new data center in the DataBank building in downtown Dallas.

The new facility features all-fiber connectivity to the Internet and the latest technology in power, cooling and security systems, says Limestone.

"This is probably the most secure data center in commercial use," says Gary Kendall, CEO of Limestone Networks. "The DataBank building used to house the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. In 2000, it was thoroughly renovated to take advantage of its inherent security features, creating one of the most desirable facilities in the US for the server hosting industry."

Limestone Networks says it has applied "rigorous standards" of design, testing and maintenance to its new facility to ensure maximum security and uptime for the critical data and applications of its customers.

The facility features six utility feeds from the Dallas Central Business District power grid which include N+3 transformers with ATS switches and concrete encased building feeds; UPS and Generator Backup Power using true A+B power configurations; and all UPS and Generator deployments provide N+1 redundancy provided by four 800 KVA MGE UPS system, two 1200 KVA CAT UPS Systems, four 2.0 megawatt generators and three 1.5 megawatt generators.

The new data center is also backed by a range of security features. In addition to around the clock, on site security, the facility's parking and building lobby requires card access to gain entry, a biometric hand scanner is required to enter the data center itself, and the facility is updated with annual SAS 70 audits.

The facility is maintained by an HVAC Cooling System designed with N+1 redundancy, and features 3500 Ton cooling tower capacity, a multiplicity of 30 Ton Liebert CRAC Units, 80,000 gallon reserve make-up water tank and Liebert Leak Detect System.

There has been significant data center builds and expansions in the past year, with announcements from H5 Colo, The Planet, WebaZilla, and Horizon Data Center Solutions, which announced this week it expanded its Carrollton, Texas facility.

Limestone Networks provides dedicated server solutions to web hosting companies and hosting resellers.
