(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Dedicated managed hostng provider The Planet (www.theplanet.com) announced that it will host the Techxans (www.techxans.org) Fall CIO Panel Forums in Dallas and Houston.
The events, titled "Trends in Enterprise IT: Portfolio and Project Management, Virtualization" and "Cloud Computing, Web 2.0 and Enterprise Relationship Management," feature industry experts who will discuss their own experiences in corporate IT.
In the past, many vendors have hosted their own conferences as a forum to interact with their partners and discuss pertinent topics. Layered Tech's LT Pact, the cPanel Conference, and Verio's viaVerio Partner Summit have all been successful partner events in the past.
The Dallas event took place Wednesday at the Infomart, while the Houston event took place Thursday at The Planet's headquarters in downtown Houston.
The Planet's vice president of technology Will Charnock and DCP/Duke Energy's VP of IT Allan Skov will serve on the panel for both events. In Dallas, they will be joined by Dallas County CIO Robert Clines, while Amerex Energy CIO Brian Trudeau will join them in Houston.
The Planet's senior product manager Carl Meadows will be the featured speaker at both events, along with executives from Compuware and Oracle.
"As a provider of cloud infrastructure solutions and virtualization technologies, The Planet provides the infrastructure that enables companies to leverage our world-class data centers and enterprise-class network for their IT operations," says Charnock. "At these events, we look to provide information that is educational and relevant to the challenges faced by technology companies today."
As the largest technology-executives network in Texas, the The Techxans has more than 48,000 members that span its Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio chapters.
Last month, The Planet launched a new Alpha Advanced Services offering that provides customers with managed backup for dedicated server data.
