Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Data center operator Horizon Data Center Solutions (www.horizondcs.com) announced this week it has expanded from 25,000 square foot Horizon Dallas I data center in North Dallas, signing a lease on an additional 12,500 square feet of space to create its Horizon Dallas II facility in Carrollton, Texas.

The Tier III data center, which also has some Tier IV attributes, is a part of Horizon's growth strategy. The facility will be added to the HDCS private DWDM fiber ring to allow back-up and replication services between Horizon data centers.

Last month the company announced it has experienced more than a 300 percent growth in data center services since it launched earlier this year. The company retained the specialty brokerage firm GVA Cawley, the Texas division of GVA Worldwide, to help identify locations, provide feasibility analysis and negotiate terms for its expansion.

GVA's Bryan Loewen represents Horizon on the real estate side of the business. According to the press release, Loewn and the GVA Cawley Mission Critical Connect team were "instrumental in analyzing and negotiating the contracts" for Horizon's new expansion site.

The North Texas area, and in particularly, Dallas, has seen a flurry of data center activity in the past few years. The past year alone has seen data center announcements from H5 Colo, The Planet and WebaZilla.

Recognizing this, Horizon is looking to expand its data center space in this area, while considering underserved data center markets outside the region where the company can service its growing base of energy customers.

"There is a growing need for data center security and back-up for critical data in all sorts of businesses," says Lance A. Smith, HDCS president and CEO. "Some of the growth is being driven by regulations for securing personal medical or financial data, while other growth is fueled by the online transactions that are such a huge part of our growing Internet economy. GVA Worldwide's 95 offices in 20 countries, as well as the Mission Critical Connect team, made them the logical choice to represent Horizon in our current and future expansion plans."

Horizon Data Center Solutions provides a range of data center and managed services. The company currently operates one data center with plans to open two additional data centers next year.
