November 2, 2007 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Internet business solutions provider Internap Network Services (internap.com) announced on Friday it has launched an enterprise-grade peer-to-peer access method for its world-class content delivery network. Internap co-developed the P2P access service with Pando Networks (pando.com), a provider of managed P2P media distribution services.

This new access method, which is planned to be generally available by the end of 2007, is designed to support high-quality delivery of large libraries of content that have a wide range of demand. The P2P service also complements Internap's streaming services for Adobe Flash video and Windows Media, which results in a flexible and reliable CDN solution for business and government organizations that support a broad range of content with new levels of security, reliability and business intelligence, says the company.

"Until now, P2P networking was an interesting technology that could not meet the requirements of enterprise applications and digital media owners," says Philip N. Kaplan, chief strategy officer at Internap. "Internap's CDN and content monetization tools combined with flexible delivery methods for P2P, Adobe Flash video and Windows Media provide enterprise-class solutions for digital media content and applications."

Last week, Internap began providing its Flow Control Platform to enhance network performance for Defender Hosting.
